Kitchen Remodel Details {Before & After}

I am so very, very, VERY excited to be sharing this post with y’all today. It’s truly been a long time coming, a full year in fact. We repainted the entire kitchen/living room area this time last year. We then painted the kitchen cabinets white, upgraded the cabinet pulls and added the marble backsplash last spring. Like any homeowners, I’m sure, Erick and I still had a long list of projects we wanted to tackle eventually before selling this house in couple of years. Things like new floors, re-painting the white doors and trim, replacing light fixtures, painting the bedrooms and so on. WELL, thanks to a house flood this past September  which left us with concrete floors throughout, no baseboards and without a  kitchen island we definitely got to compete all of those projects a lot sooner then we expected. Long story short our kitchen sink pipe busted in the middle of the night and ran for 5 hours before we woke up to it) You can get a first hand look  inside the day it happened over on my Instagram highlight story tab,  ‘Home Improvements’.

Holiday Gift Guide Series Part 2: Gifts for the Hostess

I truly enjoy gift giving and seeing the excitement on others faces when they open up a little gift they weren’t expecting, such as a hostess gift. The idea of arriving to a party with a little something for the hostess with the mostest seems unnecessary to most and while I agree it’s not necessary at all, it’s a simple thought and gesture that’s goes a long. It will truly leave a person remembering your graciousness when you came to their home which I think is great. With that being said I wanted to share my favorite hostess gift ideas with y’all as the holiday party’s an get together’s are well under way. All of these hostess gifts would definitely work for all year around too. Continue reading for all the details

{2017} Home Holiday Decor

I promise i’m not crazy y’all, I just really really love Christmas. Scratch that, I really really love the entire holiday season. From October 1st through January 1st each year I soak up all the holiday cheer I can get. My fall and Halloween decor usually go up before October 1st and my Christmas decor is in the works the first week of November. For everyone out there saying, “what’s the rush!? Can’t you just enjoy each holiday before moving on and celebrating the next.” To you folks I  say, i’m not rushing anything – quite the opposite actually.

For me, this season goes by so very quickly and with each passing year it seems to just go even faster than the year before. The holiday season is truly my favorite time of the year and so with that I want to enjoy it  for as long as I possibly can. From the festive decor to the tree lines and falling leaves on the ground with their beautiful changing colors. Pumpkin spice latte’s, cozy knits, boot and booties, bonfires, and cider everything. To the first snow fall, pretty Christmas lights, cozy throw blankets, holiday movies, and festive gatherings with friends and family. Basically the holiday season, for me, is the season of nostalgia and comfort. Rule of life people: if something makes you happy and doesn’t hurt anyone else in the process (like putting up holiday decorations for instance 😉 )how dare we feel the need to apologize for it.
