Kitchen Remodel Details {Before & After}

I am so very, very, VERY excited to be sharing this post with y’all today. It’s truly been a long time coming, a full year in fact. We repainted the entire kitchen/living room area this time last year. We then painted the kitchen cabinets white, upgraded the cabinet pulls and added the marble backsplash last spring. Like any homeowners, I’m sure, Erick and I still had a long list of projects we wanted to tackle eventually before selling this house in couple of years. Things like new floors, re-painting the white doors and trim, replacing light fixtures, painting the bedrooms and so on. WELL, thanks to a house flood this past September  which left us with concrete floors throughout, no baseboards and without a  kitchen island we definitely got to compete all of those projects a lot sooner then we expected. Long story short our kitchen sink pipe busted in the middle of the night and ran for 5 hours before we woke up to it) You can get a first hand look  inside the day it happened over on my Instagram highlight story tab,  ‘Home Improvements’.

Hostess with the Mostest Gift Guide

I’m so excited to share my first of many gift guides with y’all this holiday season. I absolutely love buying gifts for friends and family so it makes me more than happy to share with you some of my favorite finds. I know a lot of people can get overwhelmed when it comes to gift shopping, my biggest advice is just remember it doesn’t have to be an expensive extravagant gift to be memorable. I think personal, unique and unexpected are the best ways to stand out and be remembered for your gift giving.

Holiday Living Room Decor

Tis’ the season y’all!! I was so very excited to get most of my holiday decor up over the weekend. With the house flood in September which left us with a gutted interior I was only able to decorate my front porch for fall so needless to say I was very much itching to pull out all our Christmas decor. Our kitchen is still not complete so I mainly focused on the living room. I still want to add some touches of fresh garland (I used my faux garland or now) along the mantle, doorways, and make wreaths for the windows. I just realized this post also serves as a living room remodel reveal too since I haven’t posted on it yet since we’ve gotten everything updated. The walls are still very bare because I’m waiting to hang anything until we get our new sectional (should be this week) which I am SO EXCITED about! I’ll have to do another post maybe after the holidays when the Christmas decor gets put up and the space is in its normal state. ANYWAYS, let’s get on to the holiday decor shall we!

Closet Room Update {Pax Wardrobe}

One positive thing about this flood remodel is it has given me the push to finally just do the things I’ve always wanted to do when it comes to organization and decorating. Being forced to clean out and get rid of all the junk I was hoarding was something I needed.  I ended up repainting my closet room ‘white dogwood’ by Sherwin Williams and convince Erick that I needed the Pax wardrobe system from IKEA.  With this new wardrobe I was able to eliminate the gold bookcase/shelves you’ll see in my ‘before’ pics below and all of the walnut wood stained shoe shelves I had too. I’m actually going to cut the long shoe shelves I had in half and paint them white and they will go on the wall where the gold clothing rack is now. Whatever shoes don’t fit I will just keep in the closet.

Friyay Favorites {Home Decor}

Hi Friends! Can you believe we’re nearing the end of October!?  The other day someone mentioned an event to me that’s taking place  in mid November and I thought to myself ‘oh that’s so far away I’ll have plenty of time to prepare’ um no, it’s literally in 3 weeks. It’s so true what they say, the days are long but the weeks, months, years are short! Anyways, Erick and I are headed to our college alma mater for their homecoming game this weekend – I haven’t been back to a football game since we left 5 years ago (ewe has it really been 5 years!?) so it should be a good ol’ nostalgic time.

Our house is coming together quickly which is so exciting! In case you’re new here, our house flooded 5 weeks ago and we had to completely gut our house. I so happy to say that we finally have FLOORS again!! I will do an entire blog post dedicated to our remodel but for fun I wanted this ‘Friyay Favorites’ post to be home decor themed. I’ve been doing  SO MUCH home shopping for fixtures, furniture, rugs, decor so needless to say I’ve found a ton of goodies as of late.

Fall Decor Home Tour

If you’ve been following along on my Insta then you know our home flooded two weeks ago. We are FINALLY (two weeks has never felt longer) starting the remodel construction and my life should be back to normal (with better home finishes) within 5 weeks, thank goodness. With that being said this ‘home tour’ post is sadly not exactly what I had planned.  Because of the house situation there is obviously not much decorating happening inside however I was able to still decorate my front porch, which turned out so well! Keep your scroll to see all the front porch details plus my recommendations and inspo for inside!

Master Bedroom Escape + New Fav Spa Products

I’m so excited to reveal a little corner of our master bedroom with y’all today. Our master has been a lonnnggg work in progress. For whatever reason it’s just been one of those rooms that I put at the bottom of my priority list which in retrospect makes zero sense. being that it’s the room you start and  your day in, therefore making it one of the most important room’s in your home. I will eventually share the other two walls with y’all once complete but for now this will have to do ;).

As you may have seen on my Instagram, I went to The Elm’s Hotel and Spa over the weekend with my mom and bestie. We spent the day getting pampered with an hour massage, a facial, mani/pedi, and spent time in their signature grotto. The grotto is what The Elm’s is known for and it did not disappoint. Keep your scroll to read more on the three products I could not leave that place without!

Fav Statement Earrings + How I keep them organized & displayed

I love a good statement accessory whether it be a bag, shoes, necklace or especially a pair of beautiful statement earrings. I have a slight obsession with statement earrings but I’m actually pretty proud of myself for doing a major purging session of all my jewelry over the holidays. It felt so good to get rid of old pieces that were falling apart or pieces I simply just didn’t wear anymore. I also better organized my jewels and displayed them in a way that’s not only makes it easier to look through when styling an outfit but is also aesthetically pleasing.  Keep your scroll to see some of my favorite statement earrings + how I keep them displayed and organized.
