Back in December I went to an event at AesthetiCare where I was introduced to Upneeq, the first & only FDA approved prescription eye drop for acquired ptosis aka drooping or low-lying eyelids in adults. When I tell you my eyes widened with excitement (see what I did there 😉 ) when I learned there was an FDA approved daily eye drop that would improve my asymmetrical eyelids. I’m going to share a photo below of me as a kid and you’ll see I’ve always had a ‘hooded eyelid’ on my right eye (left in photo bc of mirrored image) and it has always bothered me. My entire face is definitely asymmetrical and my friends and family are well aware that my good side is the left and I must be on the left for every photo taken – I must. So clearly this right hooded eyelid has affected me haha.
You can see here my left eyelid (right eyelid in person) is very naturally hooded and low lying. If you can’t see it at first glance, shocking, but look at the eyelid crease on my left eye and then the eyelid crease on my right eye – there isn’t one on my right eye lol.
I was so impressed with the before and after photos of my eyelid, now this isn’t eye lid surgery in a bottle so it’s still not as symmetrical as I’d want them to be but my goodness this is the best my right eyelid has ever looked.
Even though my right eyelid is the problem I still apply the drops to both of my eyes. I like that Upneeq also brightens the whites in my eyes giving a well rested look.
*If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying Upneeq eyedrops. Each vial contains enough solution to allow for one drop in each eye. You may put your contacts back in 15 minutes after application.
