I am SO excited to finally share my entire Halo laser treatment experience with y’all today! It’s been 9 weeks now since I had the treatment done at Aestheticare Medspa and my skin is the best it’s been in a long time. From laser prep, to how the laser itself actually felt during the process to post treatment care and what to expect from your skin the week after – I’m sharing ALL the real life deets you want to know!
Before
Halo Laser Treatment
The laser treatment itself only took 20-30 minutes and didn’t hurt at all. Uncomfortable? yes. It felt as if someone was scratching a sunburn, not ideal but not super painful. The numbing process before hand took longer then the laser process, I sat with numbing cream on my face for 60 minutes before getting the laser done. It was super easy, I just sat in a private waiting room & scrolled on my phone until it was time to do the laser treatment.

SPICY is the word I would use to describe how I felt immediatley after the Halo laser treatment. It felt like I had a very, very, VERY painful sunburn and then someone came and slapped me across the face. It wasn’t fun. This lasted a good 2 hours post treatment for me. It can be as short as 30-60 min for others. It’s pretty crazy how drastically better I felt after this extreme burning/hot sensation stopped. This part was by far the worst of it all, once you get past that initial hot sensation right after the treatment everything is smooth sailing in comparison.

48 Hours Post Halo Laser
My left eye, brow/frown line and nose are all SO swollen here lol. I’m a stomach/face sleeper which is the worst possible position when trying to prevent swelling. I tried my best to stay propped up but I’d always wake up laying pretty flat and/or on my side/stomach. This would in turn leave me waking up with a pretty swollen face each morning for the first 2-3 days.
72 Hours Post Halo Laser
Day 5 Post Halo Laser
Day 5 post halo laser I was back to work and wearing only SPF, moisturizer, mascara and spf lip balm on my face. Overall skin is pink, dry and still has mends. No noticeable flakiness which was very nice.
One Week Post Halo Laser
8 Weeks Post Halo Laser
Eight weeks post Halo laser treatment and I am completely healed and glowing. My skin overall is much more even and smooth and I can see a small difference in my pore size. The acne and acne scaring on my chin has improved tremendously and the elasticity of my skin has improved as well. The redness you see on my nose in the above picture is from me over picking a black head, haha. All in all I would 100% do it again and can say that I will definitely be doing it again in the future.
Halo Laser VS. BBL Laser
The Halo laser did get help with the sun damage I have but it didn’t completely get rid of it. I think I will need to do the BBL laser to tackle sun damage and any discoloring. One of the most common questions I was asked on my Instagram during this process was, what is the difference between the Halo and BBL laser. See below!
Basically, the Halo is more for anti-aging as goes deeper into the layers of your skin and helps skin produce new collagen. Where as the BBL is only going to attack surface level problems. A lot of women will get a cocktail of both laser done, which I’m finding is what I will need myself to really get those sun spots/acne scaring discoloration gone. Another major difference between the two is the down time. There is no way I could have gone back to work after the Halo, I was in so much discomfort and I would have been stared at and asked a million and one questions by my co-workers. I had the laser treatment done on a Wednesday night and took that Thursday and Friday off work. Giving me 4 full days with the weekend to recover. Now, this doesn’t mean you are bed ridden by any means, I just didn’t want to deal with the questions from co-workers and it was nice to have a long weekend to get stuff done around the house.
Pricing
Every medspa is going to be different when it comes to pricing, not to mention it can change as the lasers progress and improve too. The Halo laser treatment starts at $399 and goes up (& quickly) from there depending on your specific needs and level of intensity.
