I am so very, very, VERY excited to be sharing this post with y’all today. It’s truly been a long time coming, a full year in fact. We repainted the entire kitchen/living room area this time last year. We then painted the kitchen cabinets white, upgraded the cabinet pulls and added the marble backsplash last spring. Like any homeowners, I’m sure, Erick and I still had a long list of projects we wanted to tackle eventually before selling this house in couple of years. Things like new floors, re-painting the white doors and trim, replacing light fixtures, painting the bedrooms and so on. WELL, thanks to a house flood this past September which left us with concrete floors throughout, no baseboards and without a kitchen island we definitely got to compete all of those projects a lot sooner then we expected. Long story short our kitchen sink pipe busted in the middle of the night and ran for 5 hours before we woke up to it) You can get a first hand look inside the day it happened over on my Instagram highlight story tab, ‘Home Improvements’.

It has truly been an EXHAUSTING 12 weeks dealing with all that comes with a flood remodel however I am so very grateful nothing of serious importance or sentimental value was damaged in the flood. Yes, it was a real pain in the ass to have everything in our home thrown into boxes and placed in the garage for 12 weeks, to walk around on concrete floors and be without a kitchen sink up until this past week. HOWEVER, big however here, I am so so so grateful it was just 12 weeks. Twelve weeks where while it wasn’t the most cozy house it was still a house we {and our fur babes} could still live in while being remodeled. Not to mention it forced me to minimize and clean out closets I had jam packed of things I didn’t need and to truly be grateful for the things I do have.
Anyways, I hope ya’ll enjoyed these photos and they gave you some inspiration for your own homes. As always, if you have any questions on specific products or hardware feel free to leave a comment below!
