Our Family Christmas Cards + Outfit Details

I love Christmas cards. I love receiving them from friends and family, I love creating them to send out, and I love going back and looking at past cards throughout the years. This is only the second year I’ve sent out cards from our little family as Erick and I are on our second year of marriage. The idea of keeping this tradition going every year and to be able to look back at each card as we get older and our family eventually grows with more fur babies and even human babies one day makes my heart happy.

I do have to admit, this year i procrastinated in scheduling professional pictures to be taken so i ended up just taking them myself one weekend this fall. if you’re thinking to yourself ‘these look a little homemade’ – well that’s because they are ūüėČ haha. however, using basic invite to create our cards this year really stepped up these home photos in a major way. basic invite has over 250 pretty christmas & holiday designs to choose from including their¬†luxury christmas card’s, christmas party invitation ideas, and even¬†company holiday party invitation templates all starting as low as 0.82 cents! one big detail that scored major points with me is basic invite has 180 different color options to choose from so you can really make sure the card is exactly how you want it down to the littlest detail. i feel like that is one of my biggest struggles when designing cards on other online stationery websites so i really appreciated the creative freedom they give you with that.

i decided to keep my outfit light and neutral. one of my favorite trends right now is winter whites. this chenille sweater¬†with pretty satin ribbon ties at the wrist’s was a tj maxx find and comes in three other colors {mint with black ties pictured in widget below.} i absolutely love a good faux fur vest during the holiday season as they are so festive and this one by one of my favorite new lines at target did not disappoint. I’m wearing some of my favorite fit jeans that you’ve seen me talk about in the past paired with this cute ¬†faux suede bootie¬†in white to keep the winter white them going. my necklace is an oldie but a goodie from jcrew {similar here.}

i wanted to keep erick’s outfit pretty casual and i was able to use pieces he already had. these cole hann shoes {similar here} are actually his wedding shoes that he has gotten such great use out of since and they are still in such good shape. i’m linking some similar pants and festive holiday shirts below.
