{2017} Home Holiday Decor

I promise i’m not crazy y’all, I just really really love Christmas. Scratch that, I really really love the entire holiday season. From October 1st through January 1st each year I soak up all the holiday cheer I can get. My fall and Halloween decor usually go up before October 1st and my Christmas decor is in the works the first week of November. For everyone out there saying, “what’s the rush!? Can’t you just enjoy each holiday before moving on and celebrating the next.” To you folks I  say, i’m not rushing anything – quite the opposite actually.

For me, this season goes by so very quickly and with each passing year it seems to just go even faster than the year before. The holiday season is truly my favorite time of the year and so with that I want to enjoy it  for as long as I possibly can. From the festive decor to the tree lines and falling leaves on the ground with their beautiful changing colors. Pumpkin spice latte’s, cozy knits, boot and booties, bonfires, and cider everything. To the first snow fall, pretty Christmas lights, cozy throw blankets, holiday movies, and festive gatherings with friends and family. Basically the holiday season, for me, is the season of nostalgia and comfort. Rule of life people: if something makes you happy and doesn’t hurt anyone else in the process (like putting up holiday decorations for instance 😉 )how dare we feel the need to apologize for it.

{ tree dressings }

this year i decided to trade in my traditional faux fur tree skirt for a big GALVANIZED bucket and faux fur rug. i find my decor style in general to be a mix between farmhouse and chic/glam. sometimes it’s hard to balance the two, but i try to do so tastefully. i love the  rustic cozy feel of the farmhouse look including distressed wood, greenery, wire baskets, gingham print and cozy knit throws. yet the chic and fabulous look of yellow gold, glass mirrors, mercury glass, marble, and faux fur have my love too. anyways, my point here is i try to mix these two looks in my home all year around and did the same with my christmas decor this year. linking my favorite tree dressings including this auh-dorable country living gingham garland.

{ ORNAMENTS }

keeping the same theme here with my ORNAMENTS, farmhouse chic. linking some of my favs below.

 { stockings }

you can’t go wrong with neutral faux fur and knit stockings!

{christmas tree table decor}

i bought this adorable glass globe with distressed base, mini trees, and pretty snowflake dust from MICHAEL’S and made cute little displays. it was so easy and fun, i can see this being a great activity to do with a little one. ps. all christmas decor is 50% off at MICHAEL’S right now. another easy way to ‘deck the halls’ is having tabletop christmas trees throughout your house. you can find these decorative trees everywhere from target, hobby lobby, kirklands, homegoods, michaels, and tj maxx. linking some of my favs below.

 { storage accessories }

this is where the farmhouse look comes in. i love the look of tin buckets for faux birch fire wood and crates for pillows and throws. three tiered wood stands make for the perfect piece to display your favorite decor on too.

{ lanterns & candle sticks }

both lanterns and candle sticks are easy adds to not only display with your holiday decor but to use throughout the year.

{ greenery garland & wreaths }

so normally i would have a lot more greenery around my house for the holiday season but because i am decorating so early, fresh garland isn’t in stores quite yet. fun fact though, home depot and lowes let you take scraps from christmas tree trimmings, wait for it, for free. they also have fresh real garland and wreaths you can purchase too. stay tuned for an outdoor holiday decor post featuring this, but for now i will link my favorite faux greenery below.

{ throws + rugs + pillows }

this is one of my favorite ways to cozy up any space. i use faux fur and knit blankets, pillows, and rugs year around but an abundance of these items are a must during the holiday season.

{ extras }

more festive favorites to fulfill your holiday decor needs!

{ hostess with the mostest }

I love to entertain and pretty much collect glassware, serving dishes, cheese boards, UTENSILS, you name it. linking some of my holiday favorites below!

as always comment below with any questions and I’ll answer them as soon as possible. happy holiday decorating my friends, TIS THE SEASON!
