Beauty Travel Essentials for a Sunny Destination

hi friends! I’m so very excited to be heading down south { stay tuned for more details next week } for a sunny pool side vacation to celebrate my husband erick and i’s first wedding anniversary! with that being said today i wanted to share what beauty travel essentials i must have with me for some fun in the sun.

{ spf }

most importantly you must have sunscreen to protect your skin. there’s nothing that harms and ages your skin faster then a few days of straight sunshine without protection. make sure your MOISTURIZER has 30 spf or higher and your body sunscreen is 50 spf or higher, anything below that is pretty much pointless. Also, don’t forget to read the label and reapply through out the day or after getting in the water.

{ HYDRATING face mist }

i love love love having this hydrating face mist in my bag at all times. It’s perfect after getting off the plane or after being out in the sun all day.

 

{ BRONZEr/highlighter }

after a day in the sun you’re sure to have that natural glow but i love to enhance that glow by adding some highlighter to my CHEEKBONES and temples. This helps your face appear more narrow and gives off a gorgeous glow. I’m currently loving this bar of gold ILLUMINATING highlighter by charlotte tilbury.

{ aloe vera + hydrating mask }

I love coming back to the room, taking a shower and then applying cold (keep in REFRIGERATOR) aloe vera gel on my FRESHLY sun kissed skin. i recently just RECEIVED this peter thomas roth cucumber gel mask as a birthday gift from sephora and love it! it’s a cool and calming gel that helps soothe dry skin and i can’t wait to bring it with me to use after a long day in the sun.

{ sea salt texture spray for hair }

i love bringing along a TEXTURING sea salt spray to create TOUSLED beach waves. this mai tai spritzer from drybar also helps keep your hair hydrated and moisturized.

{ water proof mascara or eyelash extensions }

so, if you remember my eyelash extension post you’ll remember me saying how amazing they were to have on our beach honeymoon last year. Literally just had to throw on some tinted moisturizer and that’s it. however, i understand this is a pricey service so if you don’t want to give up the money for lash extensions i recommend bringing and wearing a waterproof mascara. My go to for years has been great lash waterproof mascara.
