Wedding Wednesday: 6 Things Every Woman Should Do before Saying ‘I Do’

Happy Wedding Wednesday! I’m so excited to be bringing this weekly post back after a long break during the busyness of the holiday season. It’s crazy that wedding season will be among us and in full swing in two very short months. This time around will be a little different for me as I won’t be the usual guest at each wedding but I’m lucky enough have booked many weddings to plan & coordinate this year and it feels like I’m adding another one each week. I could not be more grateful for each and every bride who has entrusted me with this very important responsibility.  Needless to say this first wedding season for Elle Mae Bloom will be one for the books and I can’t wait to share all the pretty little details with you all as they take place!

Today though, I wanted to share 6 things every woman should do before saying ‘I Do’. Whether you’re at the ripe young age of 20 getting married, in your mid or late twenties, or well into adulthood I think all of these things are important. While it’s the most wonderful thing in the world to have a partner to share  life’s love and experiences with. There is also something truly important and amazing about knowing yourself and growing  through these experiences below.

{ Fall in Love with Yourself  }

Manifesting your soulmate begins by loving yourself; law of attraction tips for love:

Until you are truly in love with yourself and who you are as a person it will be difficult to let your significant other in to fully love you the way every girl deserves to be loved. Find your inner happiness and the rest will fall into place.

{ Travel on your own }

While our honeymoon was one of the best vacations I’ve been on it was also so amazing to travel on my own with a group of girlfriends. You learn SO much when traveling on your own and I feel like if you can conquer that – you’re golden.

{ Fall in and out of Love }

While I love a good high school sweetheart, we’ve been together since the beginning of time story – unfortunately that isn’t the case for most of us.  Love is one of the greatest emotions and feeling – it’s an amazing thing to give love and to be loved in return. You learn, you grow, you take risk, you make mistakes, and you figure out the rhythm to what makes your own heart beat. One of my favorite quotes from the famous F. Scott Fitzgerald “There are all kinds of love in this world but never the same love twice.”

{ Find your Friend Soul Mate’s }

It’s true what they say, the older you get the more you see and realize who your true and loyal friends are. Friends will show their true colors through all of life’s small and big events and when you figure out just who those loyal friends hold on to them as tightly as possible. Invest your energy into them and those friendships and I promise the quality is much greater than quantity.

{ Be Financially Independent }

This doesn’t mean you need to have 10K saved in the bank while living in a gorgeous apartment and driving a brand new car. When I lived on my own after college I was definitely living paycheck to paycheck but the thing about that was I had my finances planned out and delegated to the cent. It’s again another learning experience and honestly just being able to look back and reflect on a time where you took care of yourself before becoming a team – it’s a good feeling.

{ Find a Career or Way of Life you are Passionate about }

For the record, child support is set by a calculation based on his earnings and child care. The court sets the amount based on this calculation formula. She isn't a goal digger or trying to take all his money! Just thought you should know.:

No need to have it figured out, I  don’t have it figured out at all and I know many women in their 30’s that still don’t have it completely figured out. Everyone has their own path when it comes to career’s, making a name for yourself, and being proud and happy with where you are and what you’re doing. I think it’s so important to have a sense of direction and purpose other than your relationship or marriage.

    I completely agree with being financially independent. Marriages can get so messy once you bring in bad finances. Having your own finances in order can definitely ensure that that does not become a problem
