Happy Wedding Wednesday lovelies! Did you know that 2.3 million couples wed every year in the US, that breaks down to nearly 6,200 weddings a day. Those numbers are so huge and they mean one thing – it’s all in the details. That’s right, it’s all in the details to make your magical wedding stand out above all others and I’m here to help you with tips on how to do such a thing!
Save the Dates & Invites
This is your guest’s first glimpse into the vibe of your wedding. From the second they reach into their mailbox and grab your beautifully addressed envelope the experience to your wedding day has just begun. I love the whimsical floral invitation suite we used for our May wedding from Minetd.com. I also suggest Wedding Paper Divas and Zazzle for trendy save the dates and invites at a great cost. Another great detail to add to your invites is a personalized address stamp. Not only is it adorable but it is truly practical and between save the dates, invites, bridal showers, and all the thank you notes you’ll be sending it will definitely get put to good use. EMB Tip: get a self inking stamp, it would be a messy pain to have to dip the stamp in ink every time before stamping!
Custom Place Cards
One of my favorite touches I did at my wedding was custom place cards. Not every wedding has a seating chart, they’re a lot of work after all. You can use custom place cards for your reserved tables or even just at your head table for your wedding party. I’m all about little details that add just that little extra something special and this gorgeous detail does just that.
Party Favors
I love the idea of party favors being a silent ‘thank you’ to your guest. The typical Koozie or beverage cup is always good but something a little more sentimental is so special. I love these vintage hankies to have at the entrance of your ceremony as a keepsake for your guest. It’s such a simple and thoughtful touch that they’ll be sure to remember. EMB Tip: make it even more special for your bridal party by embroidering the hankies with something as simple as their initials.
A Signature Cocktail
If you chose to have alcohol at your reception you absolutely must do a fun signature drink! EMB Tip: to help cut cost don’t actually have this signature cocktail pre made as that can cost a pretty penny but instead have it listed beautifully on a sign nearby for guest to request once at the bar!
Breathable Bouquets
I absolutely love the trend of breathable bridal bouquets. Long gone are the days of wrapped tight proper bouquets. Play around with a more asymmetrical arrangement for a bouquet that will take everyones breathe away and look oh so dreamy in photos.
Tablescapes
Whether you have the budget to do every table to the nines or just your head table it is so worth having a pretty tablescape. I can’t get over how beautiful ours was. From the gorgeous garland running across the farmhouse head table, to the beautiful glass and gold beaded chargers and the ivory and gold china dinner plates. The antique gold flatware was such a pretty detail and I just couldn’t resit these wonderful ‘thank you’ notes to set on top of each place setting. Tied off with a tulle ribbon (so bridal) and a little rosemary garnish which gave the perfect final touch. For my guest’s dinner tables we made these whimsical book page table runners and wood block table numbers. The table runners were SO easy to make and very inexpensive! Lucky for you the walnut stained wood block table numbers are available for rent through yours truly!
Personalized Gifts
Personalized gifts for your parents, future in-laws, and wedding party are a must. The sweet gesture will be very much appreciated and cherished by them for years to come. Check out last weeks post for the perfect personalized bridesmaids gift. As for the parents – I wanted to do something special for my dad and this personalized hammer was perfect. My dad is a true and talented craftsman and he has built homes his entire life, including the home I grew up in and my parents still live in today. This hammer was the perfect gift that I knew he’d cherish and appreciate the meaning behind it. I had “Thank you for helping me build my life” engraved into one side and Erick & I’s wedding date engraved on the other.
“May you be blessed enough to have a marriage more beautiful than your wedding” – unknown
