My Birthday Wishlist + Best Birthday Discounts

Today is my 27th birthday, why do I feel like I was just 23!? The days may be long sometimes but the  years seriously just keep feeling faster and faster the older I get and it’s actually pretty scary. But anyways, age is just a number and I feel like it shouldn’t affect your emotions or determine your way of thinking. Here’s one of my fav quotes I saw on this topic.

amen to that.

with it being my birthday I thought I’d do a special blog post and share my birthday wishlist along with a list of all the best discount’s & freebies you can get at some of my favorite food and retail shops on your birthday.

Palm Leaf Southern Charm OOTD Inspo

So, I’m a big bravo channel fan, always have been and always will be. it’s not even a guilty pleasure, there is no guilt from this girl, ha! i can tell you anything you want to know about any of the real housewives franchises, Jeff Lewis’s flipping out, shah’s of sunset, below deck, and the show that inspired this look, southern charm. i have been watching southern charm since it first aired in 2014 and i just love following the cast’s lives and watching them grow up {even though they’re in they’re mostly in their 30’s & 40’s} in their cute and charming town of Charleston, South Carolina. I find Charleston to be so dreamy with it’s pastel colored historical buildings and gorgeous landscapes. It’s definitely on my list for a vacation spot in the near future. Are any of you big Southern Charm or bravo fan’s? I’m slightly obsessed and also can I just say, so thankful for social media so that I can insta stalk Cam {she’s my fav} even during the off season. She’s seriously so hilarious, real, and relatable . If you aren’t following her on insta, go do it now!

Anyways, the new season of Southern Charm just started last month and watching the cast in this cute coastal town has inspired my spring/summer look I’m sharing with y’all today.

Holy Grail, Must Have Beauty Products

If you’ve followed my blog for awhile now then you know I’m a beauty product junkie and I always love trying out new and trending products. Over the last few years but especially this past year I’ve tried so many products both name brand and drug store. I’m all about finding the perfect ones that not only work well in the moment to enhance natural beauty but also work longterm to work against the signs of aging such as wrinkles, age and sun spots, enlarged pores, capillaries, and adult acne and blackheads.

 if I only had 5 min’s to grab items before fleeing These are the beauty products that I would choose to grab (after my dogs, childhood stuffed animal, and other keepsakes of course). my holy grail, must have, go to items that I can truly tell a negative difference in my skin if I go more than 3 days without using them. these are the products that work best for my combination but mostly dry skin.

March Health Update {My Weight Loss Journey with Cyclebar}

Six weeks into 2018 {on Feb. 11th} I shared with y’all that I was down 10 pounds and today I’m excited to share that I am down another 6 LBs. We are 11 weeks into the new year and 4 weeks since my last post update. Since beginning my weight loss journey in August 2017 I’ve lost a total of 37 LBS with 16 of those LBS being in the last 11 weeks. It’s definitely been a very slowww journey to say the least, but to be honest, it’s probably been the easiest trial of trying to lose weight that I’ve ever attempted. I’m not consumed by it, it’s not controlling my daily life, and I’m not being hard on myself by putting unnecessary pressure to hit a certain number on the scale by a specific date. by Not putting an expiration deadline on my health is what I truly believe has been the biggest factor as to why this hasn’t been such a treacherous experience for me.

Best Spring 2018 Dupes

You know, honestly, I’m not sure that even if I could afford a $1000 plus handbag if I’d actually even spend the money on it. Okay, okay, maybe if I won the lottery and had unlimited funds I’d splurge on a couple real designer handbags. However, that’s unfortunately not the case right now and there’s really no point when you can find such amazing dupes out there. I’m a fan and consumer of fast fashion trends, wear it one or two seasons then sell or donate it, that I love the fact that I can find and buy a designer dupes. Yes, while it is not going to be near the same quality as the designer version, if it still hits my normal standard of quality and looks pretty freaking close to the design, I’m sold. Keep your scroll for all my current favorite handbag, shoe, jewelry, and clothing designer dupes.

My New Beauty Buys & Trys

Happy March friends, I’m taking a big sigh of relief that we made it through winter and the light can be seen at the end of the tunnel. It was a beautiful sunny weekend here in Kansas City with temps in the high 60’s giving me the promise of spring which I am so ready for. Anyways, I wanted to share a round-up of beauty products that have been on my wishlist for a couple of months now and that I finally went out and picked up over the past week or so. I obviously haven’t tried these products out but for only 3-4 days now so I will be sure to do a full review with all my thoughts here in 4-6 weeks after i’ve had time to use them long term. These are products i’ve had my eye on after seeing other bloggers or beauty vloggers talk about them and having success. Along with that I also love love love to read product reviews and do my own research before purchasing any product so some of these come from my own findings and experts at beauty stores as well.

Oh Hey Vacay {My Cozy Travel Outfit + Travel Essentials}

I typically don’t publish blog post’s over the weekend but Thursday night I promised a full travel essential blog post for y’all on Friday. Unfortunately life happens and our first born fur baby, Brantley, needed our attention these past two days. After a visit to the doggie ER we found out that he has a serious UTI and bladder stones, which thank goodness are both treatable by antibiotic and prescription CD dog food which will help to minimize and dissolve the bladder stones. We are so very very thankful that it wasn’t something much more serious and that it will hopefully be an easy fix. It’s not fun watching your usually fun, full of energy, excited, happy, and goofy dog not be themselves and instead be in pain – it’s quite awful. Erick and I adopted Brantley when we were dating in college before we were even engaged, 3 years before actually. Brantley turns 6 this May which I had already been thinking about often and with friday night’s event, it made me realize just how fast time is flying by with our sweet Brantley. I wish so very badly that dogs could live to be 100 years old, it just isn’t fair. Here’s to giving all dogs, young and old, the best and healthiest lives full of love and care that we can give them.

isn’t he the cutest? okya okay, let’s talk travel essentials and outfit details now shall we.

Leawood Cyclebar’s 1st Birthday Bash + Health Update

I’m excited to share a little update on my 2018 good health and weight loss journey with y’all on this Monday morning. We are 6 weeks into the new year and I am happy to say that I am down 10 lbs since my first post which i shared with you all 5 weeks ago. I have continued to eat well and eat smaller portions, though I still indulge & honestly probably a little more than someone who is trying to lose weight really should. Along with that I’ve been going to Cyclebar in Leawood three to four days a week. Don’t get me wrong, 10 lbs down in 6 weeks is great and I’m so happy with those results as I know it very well could have been much less. These next 6 weeks though I really want to give a little more effort by really reallywatching my sugar and carb intake and start going to Cyclebar four to six times a week. Cyclebar in Leawood is celebrating their one year anniversary this month and they are doing something so fun and completely free to non members. this birthday bash event is coming at such the right time for me and it will definitely make it easy for me to bump up my weekly class attendance.
